Career Companion

With Career Companion you can plan, prepare, and practice for your speeches. Treat every speech like a project and track all the important details related to that speech in an organized way in one space that you can always go back to.

Go to Career Companion > Q&A > Speech Preparation.

Use this kanban like the board to track the status of your speeches:

Take ~5-10 mins to capture key details about your speech

You can categorize the purpose of your speech in one of these four categories:

  1. Informative: useful information

  2. Persuasive: convincing people to change

  3. Demonstrative: showcasing a process or a product and focus on the 'how'

  4. Entertainment: enjoyment with anecdotal stories

  5. Inspirational: motivational

Write out the content of your speech

Three key things to remember about the content:

  1. Write an outline/bullets (not narrative)

  2. Know more content than you will share (Q&A Prep)

  3. Use the Speech Structure Building

Practice makes perfect and you can practice in two-fold:

  1. Audio: Record just audio to nail down the tone, structure, timing, etc.

  2. Video: Movie to video to focus on body language, delivery, presence, etc.

Capture all the feedback, so you can use it to help you improve
